  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 3 oz box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • ¼ cup whiskey
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, optional
  • ½ cup whiskey
  • ½ cup butter or margarine
  • ¾ cup sugar

directions

1. For cake: Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan. Mix first seven ingredients in large bowl. Pour batter into pan. Bake 55 minutes. Place pan on rack; loosen sides with knife. DO NOT remove from pan.
2. For glaze: In 3-cup saucepan, combine remaining three ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until blended. Simmer until ready to use; pour over top and down sides of warm cake. When cake is cool, remove from pan and slice into wedges.
