ingredients

  • round loaf sourdough bread, unsliced
  • 1 lb pepper-jack cheese, sliced
  • ½ cup butter
  • ½ cup green onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

directions

1. Melt butter in a saute pan. Add garlic and onions and saute until soft. Set aside.
2. Cut the bread lengthwise and widthwise without cutting through the bottom crust. Insert cheese between cuts. Drizzle butter, onion, and garlic mixture over bread.
3. Wrap in foil; place on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Unwrap; bake 10 minutes longer or until the cheese is melted.
