- 1 lb. italian sausage, browned and drained
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 14 oz can whole tomatoes
- 1 12 oz can tomato paste
- 8 ounces lasagna noodles
- 3 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- ½ cup grated parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 lb. grated mozzarella cheese

Add first seven ingredients and 1 cup water. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes; stir often. Cook noodles in boiling salt water till tender. Drain and rinse. Mix remaining ingredients, except mozzarella. Layer 1/2 the noodles in 13 X 9 X 2 inch baking dish; spread with 1/2 the ricotta filling. Add 1/2 the mozzarella cheese and 1/2 the meat sauce. Repeat. Bake 375 degrees for 30 minutes, or assemble early and refrigerate or freeze. Bake 45 minutes. |
