ingredients

  • 1 cup onions, diced
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 green apple, cored, pealed and diced
  • ½ cup dried cranberries
  • 8 cups cornbread stuffing mix
  • ½ teaspoon poultry seasoning
  • 2-½ cups chicken broth, warm

directions

1. Pour cornbread stuffing mix into large bowl.
2. Saute onions in the butter until onion is tender but not browned. Toss in apple and cranberries and saute for an additional 2-3 minutes. Pour onion mixture onto cornbread mix. Toss cornbread mixture and add poultry seasoning. Add broth and toss stuffing until moist but not wet.
3. Stuff turkey or bake for 30 minutes at 325 degrees.
